Event Posting
It has become clear to the Admin Team that we need to spell out what's acceptable to post about events in chat, so here we go.
1. This is a community chat, which should be used for socializing. If there are ACTUAL events, those can be posted here either by OFFICIAL DHPG Staff or by Region/Group owners looking to inform the grid of their events. However, this does not mean the chat should be spammed, or grid members should be badgered to attend an event.
2. Information about ACTUAL EVENTS could be posted two hours before the event, again 15 minutes before the event, and then again at halftime. Again, there is no need to keep hounding folks to attend an event.
3. Region/Group Owners who are holding non-DHPG sponsored events are also encouraged to work with the events team to ensure that no events are scheduled to override existing grid-hosted events.
4. In the case of a Region/Group Owner, not having an ACTUAL event but simply letting folks know that there are people there hanging out is strongly encouraged. They use their group chat for that and have a group joiner available for their visitors to join their group easily.
